Concordia, MO (June 25, 2025) – A head-on crash near Concordia left two men hospitalized Tuesday evening following a violent collision on Missouri Route 23.
According to reports, the crash happened at approximately 5:00 p.m. on June 24 at the intersection of Missouri Route 23 and Concordia Lake Road in Lafayette County. A 2015 GMC Acadia, driven by a 53-year-old man from Concordia, was traveling northbound in the southbound lane when it collided head-on with a 2021 GMC Sierra, also driven by a Concordia resident, a 64-year-old man.
Both vehicles sustained total damage and had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Acadia suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Research Hospital by LifeFlight Eagle. The driver of the Sierra sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by Concordia EMS.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
