According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 8:25 p.m. on December 30 along Route E, just south of Akeman Bridge Road. Authorities report that a northbound 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2014 Chevrolet Cruze head-on.
The driver of the Cruze, a 24-year-old woman from Harrisburg, Missouri, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a responding paramedic at 9:03 p.m. The male driver of the Dodge, age 23, also from Harrisburg, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by EMS.
