Walla Walla County, WA (September 23, 2025) — Two Kennewick residents were injured early Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 124 near Flattop Road.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 6 a.m. on September 21 when 52-year-old Jose Sandoval-Oregel was driving a Toyota Highlander eastbound and attempted to make a left turn. During the turn, his SUV was struck from behind by a GMC Terrain.

The impact injured Sandoval-Oregel and his passenger, 44-year-old Laura Sandoval-Rojas, also of Kennewick. Both were taken to Lourdes Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the GMC fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive and has not yet been located. Investigators are continuing their search for the suspect vehicle and the person responsible.
