According to reports, the incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on August 16 in the 8100 block of South Halsted Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Authorities say a white SUV traveling northbound on Halsted struck a 22-year-old woman who was crossing the street.
The driver did not stop and continued northbound, leaving the victim behind. Emergency crews transported the woman to Christ Hospital where she was treated for a shoulder injury and multiple cuts. She was last reported in fair condition.
