GRIMES COUNTY, TX (November 19, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle collision in Grimes County claimed the lives of two men early Saturday morning, including Hugo Valderrama-Contero of Spring, Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. on November 15, 2025, on State Highway 249 near Farm to Market Road 1774. Officials say 31-year-old Wesner Carrillo of Pasco, Washington, was traveling westbound in a Ford Escape when he veered across the center line and collided head-on with a Toyota Highlander driven by 45-year-old Hugo Valderrama-Contero.
Both Carrillo and Valderrama-Contero were pronounced dead at the scene.
Shortly after the head-on crash, a Honda Civic struck the disabled Escape. A rear passenger in the Highlander suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Three children also involved in the initial collision were treated at the hospital and later released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
