Brown, KS (August 7, 2025) – Late Wednesday afternoon, an intersection crash in Brown County sent a young driver to the hospital. The collision occurred at approximately 5:02 p.m. at the crossing of 230th Street and Mulberry Road, involving a utility vehicle and a pickup truck.
According to reports, a 2020 Polaris Ranger, driven by 13-year-old Jace Twombly of Hiawatha, was traveling northbound on Mulberry Road when it collided with an eastbound 1978 Ford pickup operated by 25-year-old Luke A. Kessler, also of Hiawatha. Twombly sustained injuries and was transported to Amberwell Hiawatha Hospital for treatment. Kessler was not reported injured. The intersection was temporarily blocked while crews assisted at the scene and investigated the cause of the crash.
