Maricopa, AZ (July 9, 2025) — A chain-reaction collision Tuesday morning shut down northbound State Route 347 near Casa Blanca and left three people injured, including one with serious injuries. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed the crash happened just before Casa Blanca Road on July 8, 2025.
According to reports, preliminary information indicates that an Econoline van rear-ended a vehicle that was slowing down for traffic, sparking a multi-vehicle pile-up. DPS later confirmed that four vehicles were ultimately involved in the incident.
Witness footage posted on Snapchat’s SnapMap showed first responders carefully placing the driver of the Econoline van onto a stretcher before transport. Three people were injured in the crash, and one of those victims sustained serious injuries. Fire crews worked to treat the wounded at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals for further care.
Northbound State Route 347 was closed at Lakeview Drive for several hours while troopers investigated and cleared debris from the roadway. Drivers were advised to use the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway as an alternate route to Interstate 10. The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the roadway was reopened by early afternoon, but the investigation into the cause of the crash remains active.
