Walker County, TX (August 15, 2025) — Five people were injured Thursday morning in a crash involving a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) transport van and a pickup truck, according to local authorities.
According to reports, the crash occurred just before 9:00 a.m. on August 14 on Farm-to-Market Road 980 near Northside Baptist Church. The TDCJ van was carrying six staff members at the time of the collision. Fortunately, no inmates were on board.
Following the crash, one correctional officer was airlifted to a hospital for advanced care. Four others were transported by ground ambulance. The condition of the pickup truck driver was not immediately released.
Authorities have not yet confirmed what caused the collision, and the incident remains under investigation.
