Tacoma, WA (December 31, 2025) – A dangerous crash at a Tacoma intersection Tuesday night sent one person to the hospital and led to the arrest of a suspected impaired driver.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the incident began when a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle that refused to pull over. The trooper did not pursue the vehicle, but shortly afterward, the fleeing car collided with another vehicle in the intersection of 72nd Street and McKinley Avenue. The crash happened on December 30 around 11:00 p.m.
The collision sparked a fire, and the trooper was able to pull the other driver from the burning vehicle. Tacoma Fire crews arrived and extracted the victim, who sustained serious injuries and was transported for emergency medical care.
