Jefferson County, MO (January 7, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 north of US 61 resulted in moderate injuries to one driver Tuesday afternoon, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred at approximately 3:10 p.m. when the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet HHR, a 55-year-old man from Festus, MO, lost control of his vehicle. The HHR skidded and slid on the roadway, leading to a collision with a 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by a 38-year-old man from Olive Branch, MS. The Freightliner struck the right side of the Chevrolet with its front.
The driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by the Joachim Plattin Ambulance District. The Freightliner sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the Chevrolet was extensively damaged and towed.
