Cathcart, WA (November 12, 2025) – A deadly head-on crash claimed the life of 82-year-old Kenneth Bible Sunday evening in Cathcart, according to the Washington State Patrol.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m. on State Route 9 at 164th Street Southeast. Investigators say a 61-year-old man driving a Hummer H3 northbound on SR 9 attempted to pass another vehicle and struck an oncoming Toyota Sienna minivan driven by Bible.
Bible sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual involved in the crash was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The impact of the collision led authorities to close both directions of State Route 9 while they conducted their investigation and cleared the roadway.
