News sources show that emergency responders were dispatched to the area near 19th Avenue just south of Bethany Home Road shortly after 9:15 p.m. on July 27. Upon arrival, Phoenix firefighters discovered a man who had been hit by an oncoming light rail train.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition, but was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
