New York, NY (October 2, 2025) – A routine taxiing maneuver at LaGuardia Airport turned dangerous Wednesday night when two Delta Connection aircraft collided, resulting in minor injuries and significant plane damage.
According to the New York State Police, the crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. on October 1. A CRJ-900 jet preparing for takeoff to Roanoke, Virginia, carrying 32 people, clipped its wing into the fuselage of an arriving jet from Charlotte, North Carolina, which had 61 people on board. The impact shattered the cockpit window of one aircraft and tore through the wing of the other.
A flight attendant sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for care. Fortunately, no passenger injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration and Delta Airlines are investigating. Delta has confirmed both aircraft involved were operated by Endeavor Air, a regional subsidiary.
