Midland, TX (August 17, 2025) – A woman lost her life in a suspected drunk driving crash early Saturday morning in Midland, according to local authorities.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred at about 12:44 a.m. on August 16 in the 3200 block of North Midland Drive.
Police said a black 1999 Jeep Wrangler was stopped at a red light, preparing to travel northbound, when it was rear-ended by a white 2017 Ford F-250.
The 32-year-old woman driving the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of family.
The Ford driver, identified as 40-year-old Gilbert Perez, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, a second-degree felony.
