Moniteau County, MO (January 10, 2025) – A crash involving falling ice seriously injured a 60-year-old man near MO 5 and MO NN on Thursday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. when a large piece of ice fell from an unknown vehicle traveling southbound. The ice struck the windshield of a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado traveling northbound, causing the driver to lose control.

The Chevrolet veered off the left side of the roadway and collided with a fence. The driver, a 60-year-old male from Tipton, MO, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Mid-MO Ambulance.

The vehicle from which the ice fell left the scene and remains unidentified.
