Godfrey, IL (September 21, 2025) – Two individuals riding a motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon after a violent head-on crash involving a pickup truck in Godfrey.
According to the Illinois State Police, the crash occurred around 1:00 p.m. on September 18 in the 7700 block of Montclaire Avenue. Madison County Chief Deputy Marcos Pulido reported that the motorcycle was heading southbound at a high rate of speed when it collided head-on with a northbound pickup truck attempting to turn into a driveway.
Both motorcycle occupants were critically injured and airlifted to St. Louis area hospitals for advanced treatment. The pickup truck driver sustained only minor injuries but was visibly shaken by the incident.
Montclaire Avenue was closed for a little over an hour as emergency crews responded and cleared the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
