Auburn, ME (June 22, 2025) – A serious crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV left a Mechanic Falls man with life-threatening injuries Thursday evening in Auburn.
According to reports, the collision happened shortly after 5 p.m. on June 20 along Minot Avenue. Authorities say 62-year-old Norman Lizotte was riding his 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound when a 2021 Honda CR-V exited a parking lot and pulled into his path. The SUV, driven by 74-year-old Sandra Wallingford of Auburn, was leaving the lot of Blackie’s Farm Fresh Produce and attempting a left turn when the crash occurred.
Lizotte collided with the front driver’s side door of the Honda and became trapped beneath the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop against a curb and telephone pole. Emergency crews extricated Lizotte and transported him to a hospital with critical injuries. Wallingford suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
