Covington, NY (September 19, 2025) – Emergency responders were called to a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger car in the Town of Covington earlier this month.
According to the New York State Police, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a car versus motorcycle accident on September 7 at approximately 2:06 p.m. near the intersection of Route 19 and Silver Lake Road.
The motorcyclist, 64-year-old Richard C. Blohm of Livonia, sustained severe injuries and was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital. The driver of the car, identified as 32-year-old Brook K. DeVinney of Perry, was also seriously injured and transported by ambulance to the same hospital for further treatment.
DeVinney was cited for failure to keep right and for operating an unregistered vehicle. She is expected to appear in Covington Town Court at a future date. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Crash Management Team.
