According to the Oregon State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 1:42 p.m. on August 30 along Highway 402 near milepost 31.5. Bunger was riding a maroon Honda motorcycle eastbound when he lost control for reasons that are still being investigated.
Authorities say the motorcycle veered off the highway onto a patch of loose gravel and rolled multiple times before coming to a stop. Emergency responders pronounced Bunger dead at the scene.
