Kansas City, MO (July 20, 2025) – A late-night crash involving a motorcycle turned deadly Saturday when one person was killed on Interstate 670 near downtown Kansas City.
According to reports, the Kansas City Police Department responded around 11:15 p.m. on July 19 to the area of eastbound Interstate 670 near the ramp to Interstate 29/Interstate 35 and U.S. 71 Highway. Investigators say the crash involved a Honda Africa Twin motorcycle and a Dodge Charger.
The motorcyclist was heading east on I-670 and attempted to merge onto the ramp leading to I-29/I-35 when the motorcycle collided with the right passenger side of the Charger. The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the bike.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist dead. The two occupants inside the Charger were not hurt during the collision. Police confirmed that this marks the 44th traffic-related fatality in Kansas City so far this year, compared to 52 at the same time in 2024.
