Omaha, NE (July 18, 2025) – A Fremont man was killed late Thursday night in a multi-vehicle motorcycle crash along Highway 75 in South Omaha, according to local authorities.
According to reports, the Omaha Police Department responded just before 11:00 p.m. on July 17 to a collision on the northbound side of Highway 75 near L Street. A 2006 Victory Vegas motorcycle, driven by 33-year-old Jose Paulo Wedergren of Fremont, struck the side of a 2011 BMW sedan. The impact threw Wedergren from the motorcycle.
After the rider was ejected, the motorcycle continued on and collided with a 2011 Honda SUV. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures and rushed Wedergren to a nearby hospital, where he died shortly after arrival. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
No other injuries were reported. Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor, and the crash remains under active investigation by Omaha’s traffic unit. This incident marks the 26th fatal crash under review by the unit in 2025.
