Pomfret, CT (July 26, 2025) — A serious motorcycle crash in Pomfret on Monday left a Rhode Island woman with significant injuries after her bike collided with an SUV on Route 44.

According to reports, the crash occurred on July 22 along the eastbound side of Putnam Road, which forms part of Route 44. Connecticut State Police say a 36-year-old woman from Warwick was riding her Harley Davidson Low Rider ST when it collided with a Honda CR-V driven by a 38-year-old man from Pomfret.

Emergency medical personnel transported the rider to Day Kimball Hospital, after which she was airlifted via LifeStar helicopter to UMass Medical Center for additional care due to the seriousness of her injuries. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
