Woodstock, ME (June 22, 2025) – A tragic hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle left one man dead and a woman seriously injured Sunday evening in Woodstock.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 7:50 p.m. on June 16 near the intersection of South Main Street and Route 232. Authorities from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said a group of motorcyclists was traveling alongside a gray GM pickup truck in the right lane. When one motorcycle attempted to pass in the left lane, the truck allegedly veered into the same lane, causing the motorcycle to lose control and crash into nearby woods.
The driver of the motorcycle, George Dunn, 61, of Oxford, sustained critical injuries and later died at the hospital. Lena Thibodeau, 50, also of Oxford, was seriously hurt and remains hospitalized.
Officials confirmed that the pickup truck did not stop and left the scene. Investigators have since located the truck and identified a person of interest, though no charges have yet been filed.
