According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. on August 27 near the intersection of Fellows Road and Cullen Boulevard. Officials say the officer was riding a motorcycle as part of a funeral escort when a separate vehicle collided with them.
Emergency medical personnel transported the officer to a nearby hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. Authorities have not released details on the vehicle that struck the motorcycle or whether any charges are expected.
