New Sewickley Township, PA (October 2, 2025) – A deadly motorcycle accident claimed the life of a man from Seven Fields Wednesday afternoon in Beaver County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the collision occurred around 3:59 p.m. on October 1 in the 300 block of Crows Run Road, between State Route 65 and Freedom Crider Road. Investigators say Jared Schmidt, 43, was riding his motorcycle eastbound when a westbound vehicle crossed into his lane, resulting in a violent crash.
Schmidt was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Authorities closed the section of Crows Run Road for approximately five hours as members of the New Sewickley Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police Collision, Analysis and Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene.
No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
