Linn County, KS (August 20, 2025) – A Mapleton man was injured Tuesday evening when his motorcycle struck a deer along Kansas Highway 31.
According to reports, the Kansas Highway Patrol stated the crash happened at approximately 7:39 p.m. on August 19 at mile marker 120.1, near the intersection of West 200th Road and Kelly Road. Authorities said a 2015 Harley Davidson FXDF-103 D was traveling northbound when a deer entered the roadway. The motorcycle collided with the animal, resulting in injuries to the rider.
The driver, identified as 56-year-old Ronald B. Burton of Mapleton, was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
