Orange County, FL (September 10, 2025) – A 30-year-old man from Longwood tragically lost his life Monday evening in a multi-vehicle crash involving five vehicles on Florida’s Turnpike.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on September 9 in the northbound lanes near mile marker 257. Authorities report that a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was traveling in the inside center lane when a 2007 Hino tow truck, which was in the center outside lane, shifted lanes into the motorcycle’s path.
The motorcyclist lost control, veering into the inside lane where a 2024 Honda Civic, 2019 Mercedes Sprinter van, and 2016 Dodge Challenger were traveling. The Civic and Sprinter van struck the rider and motorcycle, while the Challenger hit scattered debris.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. All other drivers and a passenger in the Civic remained at the crash site and were not injured.
