Seattle, WA (September 17, 2025) – A 50-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a deadly hit-and-run crash Saturday night on State Route 509 near the Myers Way South exit in South Seattle, according to state authorities.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on September 13 as the motorcyclist was heading southbound on SR 509. As the rider attempted to switch from lane two to lane one to take the Myers Way South exit, a vehicle in lane one struck him, forcing him back into lane two.

That same vehicle then hit a second vehicle driven by a 44-year-old Burien resident. The impact caused the second vehicle to collide with the motorcyclist a second time.

Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The first driver fled the scene, while the second remained and cooperated with investigators. The crash is under active investigation.
