Corpus Christi, TX (September 14, 2025) – A multi-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler, a police traffic unit, and a public transit bus left three individuals injured Friday afternoon in Corpus Christi.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision occurred around 12:50 p.m. on September 12 along eastbound Highway 44 at Clarkwood. Authorities reported that the initial incident began when an 18-wheeler crashed into a barricade. As Corpus Christi Police Department officers were handling the situation, another vehicle struck a CCPD Scorpion truck stationed for traffic control.
The out-of-control vehicle continued on to collide with a Regional Transit Authority bus that was traveling along the road. The driver of the vehicle that caused the secondary crash was also hospitalized with major but stable injuries.
