Hartford, CT (January 25, 2026) – A serious crash involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 84 westbound near Exit 51 left at least two people injured and temporarily unresponsive, according to emergency radio traffic from the scene.
According to the Connecticut State Police, fire and EMS units were dispatched around 5:30 p.m. on January 23 to the westbound lanes of I-84 in Hartford. Responders arrived to find a two-vehicle crash, including a white Toyota Highlander, with at least one victim initially unresponsive and another going in and out of consciousness.
Fire crews worked to gain access to the victims, using extrication tools to open the driver’s side door for one patient.
