Woodruff, UT (July 23, 2025) – Emergency crews responded to a serious multivehicle crash Tuesday afternoon that left eight people injured, including one in critical condition, on a rural stretch of highway in Rich County.

According to reports, the crash happened July 22 on state Route 16 at Reed Lane, just south of the town of Woodruff. The Rich County Sheriff’s Office confirmed multiple vehicles were involved, and at least one person had to be extricated from the wreckage. Firefighters, paramedics, and officers worked urgently at the scene.

Several ambulances and medical helicopters responded to transport the injured to area hospitals for emergency treatment. The Utah Highway Patrol stated that at least one individual sustained life-threatening injuries. The roadway was temporarily shut down while responders cleared the crash and conducted initial investigations.
