The victims were identified as 21-year-old Nasryth Antonio Funes of Fort Hood, Texas, and 27-year-old Eisleer Jose Castillo Gomez of Orlando, Florida.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash took place around 7:39 p.m. on August 27 on U.S. Highway 190. Police reported that a vehicle attempting to pass in a no-passing zone at a high rate of speed lost control and collided with another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.
