New Castle, NY (May 15, 2025) – A devastating wrong-way collision on the Taconic State Parkway claimed the lives of four people and left one person in critical condition Wednesday evening in Westchester County.
According to reports, the crash took place just before 5 p.m. on May 14 near mile marker 9.2 in the Town of New Castle. New York State Police say a southbound Sprinter van crossed the center median and struck a northbound Honda sedan traveling in the passing lane.
The impact caused the van to overturn and catch fire. Three passengers inside the van were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. The van’s driver remains hospitalized in critical condition.
