NEW MADRID, MO (January 11, 2025) – A single-vehicle crash on Highway D, one mile east of Malden, left two individuals with minor injuries on Saturday afternoon.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:15 PM when a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox failed to stop at a stop sign and left the roadway. The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Dixie Wrecker.
The driver, a 64-year-old man from Malden, and a 39-year-old female occupant, also from Malden, were both wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. They were transported by ambulance to nearby medical facilities for treatment of minor injuries—the driver to Mercy Hospital in Dexter and the passenger to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
