Gilbert, AZ (September 22, 2025) – Two women were killed in a violent collision at a Gilbert intersection Friday night, and authorities have identified the victims as 36-year-old Nicole Snell and 33-year-old Marisa Jorgenson.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the deadly crash occurred just before 9 p.m. on September 19 at the intersection of Recker Road and Ray Road. A Ford Explorer driven by a 35-year-old man was reportedly traveling westbound at high speed when it ran a red light and slammed into a northbound Honda Accord.
The impact caused the Accord, driven by Snell, to spin out and strike a traffic pole. Jorgenson was seated in the backseat. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. The Explorer continued moving westbound, eventually overturning before coming to rest past the intersection.
