Authorities reported that the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. on Route 100. Jonathan Couture, 22, of Troy, was driving his truck southbound when he collided with a horse-drawn buggy traveling in the same direction.
The buggy’s operator, 19-year-old Elias Stoltzfus from Newport Center, sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. Police confirmed that Stoltzfus’ injuries are not considered life-threatening.
