Scurry County, TX (September 24, 2025) – Two people tragically lost their lives and two others were seriously injured following a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 180 in Scurry County late Monday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the deadly accident occurred around 9:05 p.m. on September 22. Authorities say an 18-wheeler was traveling westbound on US 180, followed closely by a second vehicle. A third vehicle, heading eastbound, reportedly crossed over the centerline and struck both the semi-truck and the second vehicle.
The second vehicle’s driver, Orlando Tello, 32, and his passenger, Silvia Lemon, 59, both of Lamesa, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the third vehicle—Sid Rodriquez, 44, of Snyder, and Aleshia Lucero, 41, of Lubbock—suffered serious injuries and were transported to separate hospitals for treatment. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
The crash remains under active investigation.
