According to reports, officers with the Providence Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Orms Street and Charles Street on June 26 after receiving reports that a man had been hit by a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus. Police identified the victim as a 66-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in the impact.
Emergency crews treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to Rhode Island Hospital. Officials said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
