According to the Puyallup Police Department, the crash happened at the intersection of 7th Street Northeast and 2nd Street Northeast during an organized team run. First responders arrived quickly, and the injured student was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Police stated the driver involved remained at the scene and was not believed to be impaired at the time of the collision. However, the individual was taken into custody for an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.
