Bronx, NY (July 4, 2025) — A chaotic hit-and-run incident in The Hub neighborhood left six pedestrians injured Thursday morning when a Ford Mustang struck multiple people and crashed into scaffolding before the driver and passenger fled the scene.
According to reports, the NYPD said the crash happened just after 11 a.m. on July 3 at the intersection of East 149th Street and Courtlandt Avenue. The Mustang was traveling eastbound on East 149th Street when the driver attempted to turn right onto Courtlandt Avenue, colliding with a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The vehicle then lost control, jumped the curb, and slammed into nearby scaffolding, striking five more pedestrians.
All six victims were transported to NYC Health + Hospital/Lincoln Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. After the collision, the driver and a passenger abandoned the Mustang and fled the scene on foot. Police have not yet identified the suspects and are actively working to locate them.
Residents and business owners in the area expressed concerns about ongoing pedestrian safety at the busy intersection, which is one of the Bronx’s most trafficked corners.
