According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the tragic incident unfolded around 8:10 p.m. on September 30, 2025, in the 1800 block of South General McMullen Drive. Vega was reportedly crossing the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk when he was hit by a southbound vehicle.
