Lake Forest, IL (December 7, 2025) – A woman was hospitalized after being struck by a small SUV while walking her dog near a busy intersection in Lake Forest on Thursday afternoon, December 5, 2025.
According to the Illinois State Police, emergency personnel responded around 12:30 p.m. to Green Bay Road and Old Elm Road following a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. Upon arrival, Lake Forest Fire Department crews found an adult female who had been hit by an SUV while walking her dog along the roadway.
The woman was transported to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital with minor injuries. Tragically, her dog was killed in the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, also a woman, remained on scene and cooperated with authorities as the investigation continued.
