The incident occurred on E Colonial Drive near 3rd Street. According to FHP, a Honda was traveling eastbound in the outside lane when a pedestrian entered the roadway, moving into the eastbound lanes.
Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian entered directly into the vehicle’s path. The Honda struck the pedestrian with its front end, resulting in fatal injuries. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda, a 40-year-old, and their passenger were not injured. Both remained on-site and cooperated with authorities.
