Golden, MO (August 27, 2025) – A man suffered serious injuries Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Route J, just north of Golden in Barry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. on August 23, about one-half mile north of Golden. Authorities say a 2012 Acura TL, driven by a 27-year-old woman from Stillwell, Oklahoma, was heading southbound when it struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
The pedestrian, a 30-year-old man from Cassville, sustained serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The driver’s vehicle sustained extensive damage and was removed from the scene by Schrader’s Towing. It was reported that the driver had no valid insurance at the time of the crash. The use of safety restraints was not disclosed for the driver, and the pedestrian was classified as exempt from restraint requirements.
