St. Louis, MO (December 9, 2025) – A police chase that began in Wellston ended in tragedy late Sunday night after a high-speed crash killed one person and injured two others in St. Louis.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. on December 7, when a white Ford sedan being pursued by the North County Police Cooperative entered the city limits at a high speed. The vehicle struck a median near Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and Clara Avenue, then hit two light poles, flipped over, and collided with a parked car near Burd Avenue.
The 41-year-old male driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. Two occupants of the parked vehicle were transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. There were five people inside the parked car at the time of the crash.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police confirmed their officers were not involved in the chase but are now handling the investigation through their Force Investigations and Accident Reconstruction Units.
