Quincy, WA (May 14, 2025) – A rural road in Grant County was the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash that left an Alaska woman hospitalized Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the collision occurred on May 8 just after 12:30 p.m. along Road U Northwest near its intersection with Road 9 Northwest. Authorities say 60-year-old Susan Murray of Juneau, Alaska, was driving a 2022 Toyota Tacoma northbound when she collided with a John Deere 6130R tractor.
The tractor, operated by 22-year-old Simon Gush of Lake Village, Arkansas, was reportedly preparing to turn left when the Toyota struck its front left side. The impact caused the pickup to veer off the road, roll over, and come to rest on the west shoulder. Murray sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Her truck was heavily damaged and towed from the scene. Animals traveling with her were safely taken to the Quincy Animal Shelter.
