Ray, ND (May 15, 2025) – A serious rear-end crash involving a pickup truck and a grain-hauling semi-truck led to extended road closures along Highway 2, just west of Ray, on the morning of May 12.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:12 a.m. when a 2007 Peterbilt truck, driven by a 32-year-old man from Ray, was traveling westbound and preparing to make a right turn onto 118th Avenue Northwest. While slowing down, the truck, which was towing a loaded grain trailer, was struck from behind by a 2021 Ford F350 driven by a 44-year-old man from Tioga.
The impact caused significant damage to the Ford, and its driver sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Tioga Medical Center for emergency care. The Peterbilt driver was not injured.
Westbound lanes on Highway 2 remained closed for nearly five hours as crews cleared the scene and investigated the crash.
