Gaviota, CA (November 22, 2025) – Two men were injured Thursday afternoon in a rollover crash along Highway 101, just south of Gaviota State Beach, according to emergency officials.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident occurred shortly after noon on November 20. A southbound Dodge pickup truck veered off the highway and overturned, eventually coming to a stop roughly 150 feet from the road.
Both male occupants were trapped inside the truck. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate them, a process that took about 15 minutes. One man sustained moderate injuries, and the other suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by ambulance.
A dog in the truck was unharmed.
One southbound lane of Highway 101 was temporarily closed during the emergency response. CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
