Chicago, IL (October 29, 2025) — A woman was killed and multiple others were injured late Sunday night in a violent rollover crash on Chicago’s South Side, according to police.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. on October 26 in the 3200 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive in the Douglas neighborhood. Authorities say 36-year-old Kelley N. DeCoda of South Holland was behind the wheel when her vehicle struck the center median and overturned.

DeCoda was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 11:37 p.m. Two male passengers, both 29, suffered injuries in the crash—one with a hip injury was listed in fair condition at University of Chicago, while the other was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and reported to be in good condition.

A third passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was not injured but was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Police have not released information on the cause of the crash. The Major Accident Investigation Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
