Sampson County, NC (January 7, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision early Tuesday morning on NC Highway 55 at Oak Grove Church Road claimed the lives of both drivers and left two passengers, including a 3-year-old, with serious injuries, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 7 a.m. when a Honda Accord traveling east on NC 55 crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound Kia Sorento.
The Honda driver, Eric Scott Little, 30, of Coats, and the Kia driver, Lauren Brittany Knuckles, 31, of Dudley, were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Honda, Ashley Morgan Walker, 30, of Coats, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to WakeMed for treatment.
Maddison Faith Knuckles, a 3-year-old passenger in the Kia, was airlifted to WakeMed with serious injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
